Introduction to FGI Ecommerce

Hello to all of you out there in the infinite abyss of cyber space. My name is Tam Nguyen and I will be one of the monthly contributors to the FGI blog as it pertains to ecommerce. I manage our web store Badenball.com here at FGI. But, before we dive into the always dynamic, exciting, and fascinating world of ecommerce, I thought I would give you a bit of my personal and professional history.

I graduated with honors from Seattle Pacific University with a degree in English, which for all of you doubters out there has translated quite nicely into a professional career. Studying English has helped me a lot at FGI, as so many ecommerce issues are inherently linguistic. My official title here at FGI is Customer Service Representative, but that's really more for external emails, since my job encapsulates so much more than this. Since joining the team last December of 2007, my work at FGI includes sales, website optimization, writing marketing copy, link building, site updates and many other tasks that come my way.

When I am not at FGI, I try to do as little as possible. No, I'm just kidding. Actually, I try to stay as active as possible, besides reading which is by nature a very stationary event. I am a complete sports fanatic; I enjoy every aspect of it from watching, playing and even coaching. However, I will have you know that I have managed to go through thirty one years of my existence without rollerblading. I would like to keep this streak alive. Wish me luck!!
