FGI Business Cards

Dave Riensche - Art Director

At the beginning of new client meetings, our business card exchange usually leads to easy conversation. Not only because they are thick and plastic much like a credit card, but also because each of our employees customize their cards with their own images. There are questions about the images, answered with stories about personal experiences, followed by jokes about swiping the card in exchange for web services or coffee. All of this is great. It helps us to show our new clients that we like to have fun, we like to think outside the box, and we're people they can get to know and trust.

2009 Designs - Patting Ourselves on the Back

Things we designed in 2009 that we think are worth blogging about.

Dave Riensche, Art Director

We don't automatically think everything we do is amazing. We are pretty tough critics when it comes to our own work. There were, however, some things we did in 2009 that we think are worth reviewing. Sort of a 2009 year in review"¦ design stuff anyway.

FGI Art Director takes to the airwaves

FGI Art Director takes to the airwaves
by Loren Skaggs, CEO

You should forgive FGI Art Direct David Reinsche (pictured) if his voice is sounding a little hoarse these days. It's just that his vocal chords are getting a bit more of a workout than they used to.

Dave is hosting his own late night "“ or is it early morning? "“ radio program on 91.3 FM KBCS in Bellevue, 3-5am on Tuesday mornings. Hosting under the handle "DJ UX," the program is called "The User Experience" (we like that here!). Dave will be spinning an eclectic variety of his favorite modern music.

Dave describes his program this way: "The User Experience is a variety show with no comfort zone. The intention is to provide fresh music that makes you bob your head and turn up your radio, and surprises you when you do it "¦ because you didn't know you liked hip-hop, or indie-rock, or electronic, or dub."

Why, it'll be just like sitting with Dave in our design studio, only with your eyes closed!

Google Removing Web Design from Local Search Results

by Dan Korvas

Happy New Year, unless you are a web design or SEO company, that is. Recent talk on the internet has led Google to denounce these two industries and remove their listings from the local results when searching for a web design or SEO agency. Take a look for yourself, search for "web design Seattle" or "SEO Seattle" and see what happens. All you get is a standard result, no maps, no priority results as you would get while searching for anything else with a local value. However, make a search for "web design IN Seattle" and see what you get.
