Staff at FGI Seattle were sad to learn that a local Seattle icon will be closing March 21. The original Red Robin restaurant located in Seattle's University District was a staff favorite. The restaurant started out as a tavern before expanding locally throughout the region. There was something authentic and enjoyable about the "Grown Up McDonald's at the original location. The dining experience did not feel the same as dining at the franchise chain stores. With the view of Seattle's famous houseboat community, the University Bridge, and the water, the experience at the other Red Robin stores cannot be replicated.
Some of us from the office decided to pay our last respects to the restaurant. We commiserated over burgers and their world famous steak fries.
