When a large recall of dog and cat food occurred in Spring 2007, many pet owners turned to the reputable Mud Bay for a solution. However back then, their website only provided store hours and locations instead of the answers and information pet owners needed.
"Mud Bay has developed a revolutionary approach to customer-staff interactions in our stores, now it was time to support that with a website that lives up to our reputation," said Mud Bay Marketing Manager Theresa Schoen.
The goal of the new website (
www.Mudbay.us) was to resemble the in-store experience but in the comfort of the customer's home. The website also includes a separate "feature" page for dogs and cats, to help owners find more information that is specific to their needs. The website also made finding a store location easier with a new "Location Map" feature that shows all the stores in the Puget Sound region.
In order to maintain their reliability and credibility, the new comprehensive site structure allows Mud Bay to update and refresh their site at any time. This will permit Mud Bay to grow in the future and never let them outgrow their website.
"With a well-designed website, not only can we communicate store hours and locations, we can also create an online community that will be a supplement to dog and cat owner's experiences within our stores," Schoen said.
Since 1988, Mud Bay has helped pet owners choose healthy foods, supplements, and supplies for their cats and dogs. The result of Mud Bay's website has exceeded their expectations and they are looking forward to working with FGI as their store continues to grow. The site is now informative and serves as an online community of dog and cat owners.
